* Out of concern for the health and safety of the community, Latina History Day will not be held in any capacity this year.

Within the past few years, the groundbreaking #MeToo and Time’s Up movements empowered sexual violence survivors to share their experiences and captured global attention to bring awareness to the pervasiveness of sexual abuse and assault in our workplaces and society. As sexual misconduct scandals continue to unfold, women are not giving up the quest to incite change and create a future free of sexual misconduct.

Aisha Shelton Adam will lead a conversation with the resilient leaders sparking this change in their workplaces at Hispanas Organized for Political Equality’s (HOPE) 29th Annual Latina History Day Conference on Friday, March 13.

The conference, for which Latina History Day in California was created, will be held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel located at 506 S. Grand Ave. in Los Angeles.

Held for nearly three decades on the second Friday of March, Latina History Day is the only conference in Los Angeles that is specifically designed to meet the needs of Latina professionals — uniting Latina leaders and offering resources, networking, and skill-development opportunities to advance their careers.

This year’s theme, “Resolved, Resilient & Recharged,” centers on Latinas being equipped to take on 2020’s unique challenges and opportunities, including the presidential election and 2020 census. Latina talent will be showcased throughout the conference with concurrent forums and workshops moderated by executives, elected officials, academics, and other experts across, but not limited to, the legal, finance, education, health, community development, corporate culture, and philanthropy industries. Attendees can participate in forums on career advancement, current community issues, and financial empowerment.
